My flat status finally change to 4th Quarter 2007!! So happy to hear that.. Heard that Blk C is getting their keys soon.. Hope my turn is coming as well.. :)

Meeting with Gylenn for quotation

Finally the quotation is ready last wednesday (25th Apr). But the first thing Gylen say is "i dare not let u all see the quotation".. from that, we know that the quotation must have exceed our budget! Ok fine, we just sit there patiently going thru the quotes.. all he mentioned was " base on the material u had chosen.. bla bla bla.. the part that is expensive is ur masterbedroom.. all items in the quotation are big big items.. eg. wardrode 14ft, study table 10ft.. etc etc.." my first impression was "hmm we did not select any material leh!!??!! he only bring us to see the tiles and showflat, then he say his quotation is base on the showflat material.. but in the first place we din say we want to follow everything according to the showflat what... ok fine.. that is one problem.. the other thing is, i realised there is no hacking cost in the quotation, so San ask him,, Then he got the cheek to ask us, u mean HDB din hack the wall for u?? OMG! he said that! Does HDB ask every owner how they want their walls to hack??? then he say if we take this quotation, he will absorb the hacking cost.. Like real lor.. then he say ok let me redesign and re-quote.. Then he went thru the design again.. then he say... actually u dun need timber stripe, they will obstruct ur walkway.. in my heart, i was thinking, hey tat is ur suggestion in the first place!!! overall experience with them is they are not sincere and not reliable.. there are alot of hidden cost that is not mentioned in the quotation, Jennifer is supposed to be our designer but she change to Gylenn without formally informing us.. And gylen was like always rushing for things to be done..

btw, the quotation is $36k while our budget is $20k leh.. so how u think they can reduce even he requote?? we decided to give up this ID firm liao.. but our $1000 is still with them.. got to bear with them and i shall see what he will let us exchange!!

2nd meeting with ID Jennifer

We were so happy when Jennifer finally sms us to inform us of our 2nd meeting on saturday 21st apr, 4pm. In her sms, she said will be showing us the amended design, material as well as showflat.. To me, i tot we need a full whole day coz she say source for materials mah.. and during our 1st meeting she also said need a whole day and could be tiring.. We din really get to talk to her on sat as she was busy attending to another customers.. so she asked her assistant to bring us to the tiles supplier which is Hafary (quite well known among balestier suppliers).. Gylen also came to attend to us and seems to us that he had already chosen the tiles for us.. which is a white tile and it cost $3.60 psf (code is 6XPOOO), i.e each tile will cost $14.40... quite expensive leh.. And also the tile for our passageway which is grey (abt $2.80 psf).. After that he brought us back to their shop where he show us the design.. And THAT WAS THE END OF THE MATERIAL SELECTION!!

As for the design, there are some things we discussed during our 1st meeting but it was not done:
1. Master bedroom lighting - We only need one instead of the proposed spotlight.
2. Kitchen door - Not included in the design which we request her to draw
3. Closet - No curtain included which we wanted to see how is the feeling of a curtain instead of door
4. Layout and 3D design - promised to give by jennifer but gylen say cant give..

Things that were amended:
1. colour of the master bedroom - change to purple
2. colour of pebblestones - change a darker colour
3. aircon removed from living room (i dun tik we ask her to remove it)

After about one hr discussion, Gylen ask us to meet him at redhill showflat at 7pm.. And that time was only 5pm! gosh wat a wasteful trip we had.. Not up to my expectation.. Now considering whether to engage them.. but we had already paid $1000! Think im nt gog to let the $1k affect my decision.. But i must say the showflat is nicely renovated.. carpentary seems ok to me..

So now, we are waiting for their quotation... but i really dun wish to engage them.. lets see hw 1st..

1st meeting with ID Jennifer

April 7 Satuarday 11am..
Jennifer finally complete the 3D design after two weeks when we 1st told Glenn how we want our house to be.. Initally Glenn gave us abt 4 designs to choose from.. din really like the way he present as the layouts are juz simple drawing.. cant really visualise how our home will look like.. The 3D design that Jennifer show us dun hv the WOW effect.. hmm.. just one of those i always saw in magazine.. perhaps our budget can only allow us to do this simple design?? Anyway it is still acceptable.. This is our plan:

1. Dining table to be put in kitchen.. as we find that our kitchen is big enough to accomodate it.. furthermore we dun need a big kitchen. becoz we seldom cook.. or perhaps dun cook? ;p

2. Entrance foyer: will be laying pebblewash and also place a few timble stripe as divider. We will have mirror to cover the bomb shelter door and there will be a shoe cabinet built in.

3. We will hack the wall between master bedroom and the bedroom 2 beside it.. After which, we will have our bed in bedroom 2 and study table and closet in master bedroom.. initially i wanted a walk in closet and i wanted a door to cover up the mess in the closet... but drop the idea as san DUN SUPPORT my idea.. :( he said it is pointless to build a door when we wanted to hack the wall.. kaoz.. actually i dun need a big big space in the closet.. mayb juz one feet space for me to walk in the closet?? anyway i still prefer a door.. but lets see what jennifer can come out of 1st...

4. bedroom 3 will be left empty

We had requested Jennifer to email us the 3D design.. will post up soon.. :)

Finally selected my gowns on 12th mar. A photo of the train of my white wedding gown for Actual day:

- AD evening gown - sky blue bustier with bareback
- PS evening gown - maroon bustier
- PS wedding gown - white bustier with long train and details

All my gowns are bustier.. halter neck, v-neck dun suit me..

We bought our Queen size Maxcoil Classic Mattress from Nova Tradehub 21 yday.. Very comfortable, full latex material. It costs us $1699 + 5% GST = $1783.95.. Our 1st expensive item.. hehe i will try to source for the pic from the net and upload here.. :)

My Wedding Band

Wedding band is too expensive.. I saw one which cost $1200+ for her and $600+ for him.. ex rite?? I would rather use the money to spend on my hse.. hehe.. Anyway I bought this ring at a very good price, so intend to use it as my wedding band.. ;) 6d, 0.21 at $678 before discount, after 50% discount, it only cost $339!! Cheap rite?? :p Bought this from gold heart..

I will still lookout for more rings, if i can find something nicer, with bigger diamond and cheap, i will buy again.. hehe.. then i will wear this as normal ring.. haha.. For my darling one, we will just buy a simple ring without diamond and budget is less than $200.. haha.. anyway he wont wear it one.. :p

Seems like we can collect our keys soooon.... my CNY wish is to get my key in early last quarter of 2007.. hehe... pls make my wish comes true.. The original estimated is 1st quarter of 2008.. But... i really hope we can get it before end of 2007, if not, we dun have a place to stay after our wedding.. haaaaaa... here they go...

Our contract with Marina Mandarin was signed on 10th Feb 2007.. Paid a deposit of S$3000!! Gotta save alot again...

We had also signed our bridal package with French Bridal at $3388.. Paid a deposit of S$1500.. Our contract consists of:

1. Made to Measure Wedding gown and Evening gown (on normal material except full embroidery and full lace). If change to selection of gowns from off the rack, we are able to deduct $100 from our package price or exchange for 2 pcs of 15R photos.

2. Provide bridal head-dress, gloves, necklaces and ear rings for actual day.

3. Two jackets from off the rack and One Made to Measure pants for Bridegroom. Options to exchange for 2 pcs of 15R photos.

4. One Trial Bridal Make up.

5. Bridal Makeup and hair do for Studio (exclude eyelashes and ampoules at $15 and $20 respectively).

6. Bridal Makeup and Hair do for Actual Day starting from 6.30am onwards and Night (1 day). Exclude eyelashes, ampoules and hair setting at $15, $20 & $25 respectively. If makeup needs to start before 6.30am, there is an additional charge at $30 per hour.

7. Actual Day Hand Bouquet (One pcs fresh flower).

8. Groom Corsages (6pcs).

9. Bridal car services on actual day starting from 7am or exchange for 4pcs of 15R photos or deduct $200 from package price.

10. Bridal Car Decorations

11. Following Car Ribbons

12. Five costumes and hair do for studio shooting

13. Advance indoor and outdoor photography shooting within the same day at 2-3 locations. However if due to bad weather, there is an additional charge of $100 to reschedule.

14. All selected photos to return in CD Rom.

15. Album 12" x 15" photographs - 20pcs full page + 10pcs digital photos.

16. Additional photos at: 15R Full page at $75, 15R Digital at $95.

17. One pcs of 24" x 30" Portrait with frame and canvas.

18. 8R Table Top with Frame (Duplicated poses).

19. Free rental of Tea dress or Kua.

20. Complimentary of signature book.

21. Actual Day photography service with 300pcs 4R photos with album at $350.

22. Able to reshoot photography if they are not nice.

23. Able to select photographer.

24. Gown selection at free choice.

25. Album must be ready one month before actual day.

Meetup with Marina Mandarin

We have finally confirm the venue for our wedding dinner, Marina Mandarin at Vanda Ballroom... Yesterday (3 Feb 2007) we have a meetup with our wedding coordinator. She is a nice lady and very flexible with the perks that we asked for.

These are the perks that we managed to get:
1. Complimentary 30 litre barrel of beer
2. Free flow beer or 1 complimentary bottle of house wine per confirmed table
3. 1 complimentary table with every 20 tables guaranteed
4. Complimentary use of solemnisation room at level 6
5. Two nites stay at bridal suite. (We actually forgo a deluxe room for our wedding coordinators) Deluxe room is priced at $225+++ per room per nite
6. We are allowed to swop dishes from other menu except fish. If we upgrade the fish, there is an additional charge of $30 nett per table
7. Complimentary trial dinner for table of 10 pax.
8. Complimentary use of LCD projector and screen

Well, most of the perks that we can think of, are already in the contract... So, is there anything we can still bargain for?? :p

Now, we are waiting for her to draft the contract and we have to sign and pay deposit before 11 Feb.. :)
Oh, btw our wedding date is 6th Dec 2007.. :) nice number?? Well, initially we wanted 27th Dec, but it was already taken up.. Anyway, 6th Dec is also a good date. Furthermore i like number 6!

Its a small unit.. 90sqm.. small also good coz lesser cleaning, cheaper renovation.. haha.. pls comment hw i shld renovate my unit.. hehe... hmm.. just a floorplan, how to visualise leh???

I thought of combining master bedroom and bedroom 2... but without hacking the wall.. mayb i will install a door between the two bedroom.. but.. isnt it look like a small maze? with 3 doors... hmm can play hide and seek.. hehe

Our lovenest (Agreement signed on 27 Feb 2006)

Our lovenest will only be ready by 1st quarter of 2008.. Hopefully we can get our key real soon.. :) We got our lovenest after 2nd balloting.. We consider ourselves lucky as some people have waited even longer than us before they get their lovenest.. Some people just don't have luck despite numerous balloting or walk in selection.. Well.. for us.. it didn't come easy too....... :p Our quene number was actually in waiting list.. meaning to say, we have to wait for those before us to give up before we can even select our unit! oh.. that time I was like.. 'please give me a chance'.... And true enough.. we really got to select an unit! That was fantastic. But.. when it was our turn, an old man in front of us was actually considering to select that unit that we intended to select! No choice.. we have to wait for the old man to give up before we can select our unit.. Well.. do u know that we don't have much choice?? We are only left with 3 units to select!! The rest are low units which we don't like.. Then again.. we can only wait at the counter and pray that the old man give up that unit.. And true enough, the old man said he had to go home to consider again. :) Oh gosh! WE FINALLY GOT OUR UNIT!!!! :)
